London. Established in 2009 by Katja Chernova originally as an online platform, Ti Pi Tin is a project space dedicated to selling, supporting and promoting publications made by artists.
Our shop offers a diverse selection of vibrant and stimulating works ranging from independently and self-published limited edition books to small press monographs, journals and zines.
We are also working to develop a dynamic program of events – talks, screenings and social gatherings aimed at offering visitors opportunities and catalysts for debate and discussion around contemporary independent art publishing.

Needles & Pens
Needles & Pens is an emporium of zines, books, handmade goods, and an art gallery. Located in San Francisco’s Mission District since 2003, the space aims to provide an affordable place where like minded people from the community can display and sell their own home-made goods, home-published zines, and art work.
torna is a contemporary art space, a modest bookshop for artists’ printed materials, and a small letterpress printing studio in Kadıköy, Istanbul. It shares its space with a visual engeenering workshop – whose owner has a heartbreaking attachment to lathes. The workshop is run by David Unwin and everything else is run and taken advantage of by Merve Kaptan under the name of torna. The projects that happen in torna rely on the limitations of working within/alongside another running production space. torna encourages the possibilties of exhibiting in a non white cube gallery space. torna is also the Istanbul home to folio magazine. Torna means lathe in Turkish.
Choisi – one at a time is a new non profit space in Lugano that hosts contemporary art exhibitions and events, placing special attention on works created with and on paper, in all its forms. The exhibition space is located inside the Artphilein Editions bookstore, a shop dedicated to contemporary artist’s books, independent publishers, self-publishing, limited editions, multiples and photographic books.
‘Booklet Library is shaped by the authors, artists, and publishers who contribute their work. Our interest is in the support, provision, and promotion of a more fair cross-section of independent publications, and of (visual) difference in Tokyo.
As one of the world’s largest publicly available source for artists’ books, Printed Matter is an important voice in a vibrant and expanding field. At the heart of our mission is a longstanding open submission process, inviting artists and independent publishers to submit their books for sale at Printed Matter. We circulate over 32,000 publications annually on behalf of artists and small presses through our non-profit store in Chelsea, our online catalog and other distribution channels. With a commitment to representing and engaging a diverse community of artists, Printed Matter is in many cases one of the few outlets for artist-made publications on the peripheries of mainstream distribution networks.
In addition to maintaining an expansive inventory of 37089 titles from 26562 artists, Printed Matter is a dynamic center of non-profit services and activities offered in support of artists who make books. We maintain a busy programming calendar which includes exhibitions of contemporary and historically significant artists books, artist talks, book launches and performances, a PM Window Series presenting installations in our storefront window, and a a recently revamped PM Publishing Program’
Hato Press is an independent printing and publishing press based in London. It was established in 2009 as a support structure to sustain its members’ own practices and offer affordable means of production to others.
Ditto Press is an independent publishing house and printing company based in London, specialising in the arts and creative print. Our publishing schedule covers artists books and literary work. We are stocked by bookshops around the world and in our the online shop.
Swedish-French artist duo Anna Hellsgård and Christian “Meeloo” Gfeller, based in Berlin and Stockholm, have been working together since 2001, creating and producing prints, artists’ books, sculptures, zines and more in their print studio Re:Surgo!, cementing their reputation as master silkscreeners and innovators of the medium with every new project. Christian’s incessant artistic output began in 1995, making punk zines under the name Bongoût. From day one, Hellsgård and Gfeller have placed as strong an emphasis on intuition and skill as on DIY ethics and communal practice, in frequent collaborations with other artists on print projects, organizing exhibitions and opening their independent artist space and retail store in Berlin to international artists and musicians.

Café Royal Books is an independent publisher based in the North West of England it specialises in making very well finished, affordable, limited, collectible editions.
4478ZINE publishes, promotes and sells all printed matter by Dutch artist Erik van der Weijde. The different publishing projects range from zines to books and include collaborations with other publishers. In 2014 we started publishing books by other artists.
